Brand New?
Level 1 Helmet and Armor both unlock at WARDOG Lvl 3 with no cash cost. Grab both — 4kg total for full basic coverage.
Need Storage Immediately?
The Pouch is free with 6 slots. Skip the Scout Backpack entirely — see the trap flagged below.
Best Storage Per Kilo?
The Operator Backpack — 15 slots at 0.8kg, the best ratio on the page and lighter than packs half its size.
Mobility Matters?
Stop at Level 2 Armor (4.5kg). Level 3 more than doubles it to 10.5kg, and Level 4 costs 18kg.
Which Vest?
Vests only affect quickslots and handling speed, not protection. Small Tac Vest needs no unlock at all.
Long-Term Goal?
The Arsenal Backpack sits at WARDOG Lvl 150 — the highest requirement anywhere on the site.

How Gear Works
Four slots, three different jobs. Only two of them actually stop bullets.
Helmets & Armor
The only gear that reduces damage. Both run a clean four-tier ladder gated purely on WARDOG Level — 3, 30, 60, 100 — so neither depends on which class you play.
ProtectionVests
No damage reduction at all. Vests buy quickslots plus faster reload and weapon-swap speed — a handling upgrade, not a survivability one.
HandlingBackpacks
Pure carry capacity, measured in grid slots. The top three all cap at 24 slots; what separates them is sling slots for extra weapons.

Protection Is Paid For In Weight
Every tier up the armor ladder costs disproportionately more weight than the last. The damage-reduction labels go up one step at a time; the kilograms do not.

Only 1.5kg heavier than Level 1 for a full tier more protection.

- Lvl 100
Four times the weight of Level 2, and the only armor covering arms and pelvis.
The Verdict — Going from Level 1 to Level 2 costs 1.5kg. Going from Level 2 to Level 4 costs 13.5kg for two tiers. Unless you're playing a static, defensive role, the middle of the ladder is where the value sits — and pairing Level 4 Armor with a Level 4 Helmet puts 22.5kg on you before a single weapon.

Don't Buy The Scout Backpack
The Field Backpack beats it on every single stat — more slots, less than half the weight — for only $300 more. The Scout's one advantage is having no level requirement, so it's worth carrying only between WARDOG Lvl 1 and 12.

Armor
Armor level decides how much damage a shot actually deals, and which body parts get any protection at all — the Damage Calculator shows per-hitbox numbers against each level, using unverified community test data.

Vests
None grant extra item storage — their only role is unlocking quickslots and speeding up reload/equip.
